“Could you kill him?” Edd ventured, knowing that he and Cyrus were the only ones who would dare.
In front of the TV Daryoon focused on the news.
Edd sighed. “I’ll just go tidy up… who am I kidding, you’re not even listening.”
“Give me a reason.”
“To listen to me?”
“To kill him.”
Clutching discarded newspapers, Edd stared at the back of Daryoon’s head.
“Give me a reason and I’ll do it. Better dead than in that bastard Tzimisce’s arms.”
“Daryoon…”
But the rest of whatever Edd said was lost as Daryoon turned up the volume on the TV.
