So I’ve spent various allotments of time having issues with transcoding over the last week. First certain files wouldn’t read, then they would but wouldn’t encode, then they wouldn’t encode in a viable format and so on until finally it dawned on me that I’ve been using the wrong program all along. Seems like my brain came back from a short vacation this morning since it turns out that I should have been using Nero Vision Express instead of Recode.
So not only did I get a whole set of transcoding done in batches of four stupidly high bitrate episodes, at an estimated time of around two hours per disk earlier but now with five episodes of anime per disk, the transcoding time has come down to about an hour and a half. And I get to make pretty menus too.
Also, have some motherless breadfish. They’re like an inverse sandwich you know.
