Meine Liebe - episode 4

narcasseRandom guy died. I didn’t particularly care all that much about it. He was there, he died and that was about the jist of it really. Though I’m sure his comedy poetic end would be funnier if I actually spoke Japanese.
And because I feel I should put slightly more behind a spoiler cut...
Ludwig’s "Orphe, you have lost." just had me squeeing, like a small caffeinated squeeing thing... or maybe a classic Knightmare goblin. Though for a moment there I thought Ludwig had lost but no, Naoji had survived his angst and returned; and Ludwig had just let go of his sword because he’s Ludwig and he likes to do things like that, and by ‘things like that’ I mean things that mess with Orpherus’ head.
I did like the whole build up too:
"But, what if he does not come?"
"Then I’ve... lost."
And Ludwig’s expression. Wah!
Can you tell who my favourite character is? And it’s not just because of the voice actor, seriously.
But Ludwig just gets better and better. And is it just me or did he and Opherus look like they were fighting over Naoji at some points? There was a whole ‘stay away from my boyfriend’ vibe going on, well maybe not quite that direct but it was something along the lines of ‘Ha! He’s mine.’
Of course we’re still in the scene-setting stages. Episode 1 set the stage, 2 was about Edward, 3 Camus, 4 Naoji and from the preview 5 seems to be about Ludwig. And then there’s this random Sir Isaac character who so far just seems to sit around and drink tea at some café. Though there’s also weird teacher chap who looks like the creepy guy in charge of the prison in Enzai. But essentially its sensitive bish in military-style uniforms angst/have very close friendships/occasionally fight each other/bitch about things, more likely each other all on route to changing the world.
Disappointingly there aren’t any transformation sequences and fewer duels on the path to bring the revolution but I suppose that weighs out against Camus not sleeping with an older sibling or being slapped about by Ludwig. Orpherus does need some new facial expressions though.
And anecdotally; the voice actor for Orpherus is credited with voicing Cloud in Advent Children. Which would presume that it is going to be released at some point and that Square aren’t just sitting on it and gloating as the fans go into a frenzy, a la Doom 3.
