Note to self: the plural of Ifrīt is ʻAfārīt.

I’d go into some digression about creating the plural in Arabic but it’s fairly obvious with the way the words break down where the plural section is appended. Which extends my knowledge of Arabic by one world beyond knowing how to ask in Egyptian regional Arabic if this is the train to Luxor and how to call someone ‘darling’.

Also, I’ve just noticed that one of my favourite online dictionaries gives the German for ifrit as ‘Blaukappenflöter’ which is actually the Blue-capped Ifrita which is a strangely toxic bird from New Guinea.
