It was getting harder and harder to concoct schemes and intrigues to pass off as threats from abroad. One isolated kingdom couldn’t really be that dangerous at all.
But the trick was to hide real issues within fictitious ones and leave the genius to solve it all. So it wasn’t really that difficult to put up with an assassination attempt here, a stray zeppelin there and the fact that the Herzog’s son was blatantly homosexual, if it kept said genius happy.
Though it was quite a shame that His Britannic Majesty’s greatest cipher was, to put it politely, absolutely barking.
