I feel like the ficlet should have a follow-up where the princess turns into a pumpkin at midnight but somehow that may never happen. Of course the fairytale about people sitting in boxes for Boxing Day didn’t happen either because I only got as far as an unspecified twin climbing out of the Japanese box and sitting in the princess box for a while… it was a really bad pun. Yes, that was why.
