The hands of Invention are elaborately mechanical, so Discord notices lying quietly beside Hephaestus’ sleeping form. Metal rods and thick steel wires create the shape of hands; more accurate and skilled than a human’s could ever be.
In slumber those mechanical hands lie still, so unlike their constant articulate movement in conscious creation of matter or theorem. It is a sharp contrast; for Discord readily ties itself up in knots when thinking or acting. Even now, having snuck beneath heavy blankets to observe; Discord is curled fingers twisted together in elaborate designs.
As if in response; yet slumbering, Hephaestus smiles.
