Because I did that "Comment to this post and I will give you a letter. Upload and share five songs beginning with that letter" meme and
blasphemiliar awarded me the letter ‘c’ for ‘chervil’.
Cup of Coffee – Garbage
This and Nobody Loves You from the same album are tracks that will always remind me of reading American Psycho, possibly because every time I took a break and actually listened to the CD I had on repeat these were the two tracks playing.
Cold Machines – Alice Cooper
The album that this comes from, Brutal Planet, is one of my favourites along with Dragontown and Lace & Whisky. This track is pretty much the quintessential workers distopia theme, its Metropolis’ Moloch in all its horrific glory.
Cuzco – E S Posthumus
I was introduced to E S Posthumus by
herzog_ludwig a little while ago and we agreed that the album that this track comes from, Unearthed, far surpasses the following one. This is actually a wonderfully uplifting piece, it’s very clear blue skies and ships setting sail for gloriously new horizons, and fandom-wise I always picture Esther staring out across the water on the deck of a ship heading for Albion.
Coming Undone – Korn
Another track from another favourite album: See You On The Other Side. It’s Korn so it’s aggressive and twisted and always tends to cheer me up for some reason, though it’s probably a malevolent sort of glee.
Conscience – Lord of War OST
Both the film and its soundtrack are brilliant pieces of work. This piece is particularly haunting though it’s usually Little Odessa that I find myself listening to while writing certain characters.
And a bonus track: Clubbed to Death – Rob D
It’s The Matrix. This isn’t so much the rise of the machine armies but their absolute and unwavering dedication to their cause. It’s their purity of devotion devoid of any emotional response so that they become in essence the Hagakure’s warriors who live as if they’re already dead and thus have become unstoppable.
