narcasse: Sebastian Flyte. Brideshead Revisited (2008) (contemplative)
Reminiscence
Summer heat and the memory of one particular military campaign.

2539 words of original fiction.
Following on from Inexplicable and Remembering.
More memoirs from the monster in his tower. Maybe a couple of hints at relationships and such this time… and an assortment of nakedness.

I should point out that this was prompted by [livejournal.com profile] emthornhill’s interest in the monster-in-the-tower’s memoirs and the fact that my horoscope for the day stated that yesterday would be a good day for writing.

I’m only running on one tablet this morning because the pharmacy won’t get the other ones in till later this afternoon so I should probably just sit about and try not to overexert myself, as if there’s been any danger of that during the last week. Not that there is any chance of my doing myself damage. It would take months, if not over a year, for anything other than my kidneys to go funny.
Of course my head does feel fuzzy but that might be due to a lack of caffeine and the fact that I don’t feel like eating in this weather. When did I last have a proper meal anyway?

Or it might be due to last night being one of the few occasions when I’ve turned my computer off. Sympathetic sluggishness after a reboot or something.
My poor machine is overheating, even with excessive case-fans. I suspect that I know how he feels. I may have to invest in some other form of coolant system… for the both of us.

Edit:
In other news, my copy of the latest Potter book has shipped apparently. Though there’ll be no excuse for me to go about wearing my Slytherin scarf for another 4 months or so, which is a shame. It is quite amusing to be reading a set of books where I can’t stand the main characters though. Of course the younger generation of Slytherins seem to be fairly stupid too which doesn’t help the matter…

Maybe one day people will realize that just because there is HAWT BOYZZZ SECKS in a story doesn't make it fabulous.

Somehow I feel that day may never come.

I could talk about Potter clichés for hours or maybe I couldn’t. Maybe I’d just seethe and have a resentful soak in the bath instead.

Edit: Most of my Potter Snape fic lives here and there is surprisingly more rambling in the works.

And another edit: New Snape fic to be found here.
In relation to a reference in the fic, H. P. Lovecraft’s “The Dunwich Horror” can be found in it’s entirety here.

Still feeling kinda groggy but I might just be hungry. I can’t actually tell.

So, from conversation with [livejournal.com profile] emthornhill and since I found myself trying to dig through some Meine Liebe fic recs last night, I was wondering if a Meine Liebe fic archive might be the answer. The sort of set up much like the Arslan Archive or the famed Echoes from the West.
Anyone interested in the idea? Think I should shut up and go back to bed instead? Any opinions at all?

And for some reason I appear to be trying to consume a flash drive, so possibly I should go eat now and wait for the cries of ‘will you not just shut up for a change’ that may yet follow.

And some random lyrics:

I didn't say all the things I wanted to say
But you can't take back
What you keep taking away
