Notes on travel

Before I acclimatise to the UK again, forget how heavy my hand luggage was or get far too sloshed to form coherent sentences.
Taking a sleeper flight on a Friday night is most certainly not a good idea. Even the ground crew agreed with me.
Glenfiddich & coke is some kind of crime against humanity. But, will get me suitably buzzed in time for boarding.
Nowhere stocks amaretto, not in the departure lounge or in-flight.
Something went horribly wrong at some point last night. Woke up unable to face a bacon roll for breakfast and found the hot breakfast options in the arrivals lounge distinctly off putting.
Pretty air steward seemed rather concerned when I pulled a face at the prospect of bacon after all.
Fairly certain that I either made a rather disconcerting whimpering noise in my sleep or moaned something unintelligible. Either way, woke myself up and felt reasonably embarrassed about it.
May consider travelling in tracksuit bottoms just for comfort while sleeping next year.
Had thought the fully flat beds a silly idea until last night.
Consider taking a change of clothes for arrival/post-arrivals lounge shower.
Might also check in two bags next year so that carry-on luggage is lighter. Considering idea of one smaller bag containing just shoes and underwear or something equally ludicrous. Could check in 3 bags if I wanted to after all.
Electronic passport: thing of wonder. Could easily see how human interaction during trip could be reduced to customer service smiles and nothing else.
Must make a note of rate of interior re-fitting for specific plane types next year. Might actually want to plug my laptop or mobile in at some point.
Interestingly true to type: chief cabin steward sounded enthused, captain sounded bored in on-board addresses.
Starting to suspect that prettier cabin crew are always assigned to Business Class and higher.
Must factor taxi fees into expenditure next year. Transit doable but just a bit of a pain.
Determined to carry much lighter carry-on luggage next year. Must work out exactly what I need access to in-flight. So far, narrowed it down to prescription medication, OTC medication, face towel, hand cream, flight documentation, passport, phone, laptop, money & keys. Optionally, sunglasses, notepad & pen as well.
