A slightly melancholy drabble. Orpherus’ POV.
Sorrows

“You, who had the conquest of my maiden love, may easily conquer the fears of my distrust.”
Orpherus stares at the text, smiling wistfully. If only it were that simple, that easy to believe that his fears might be laid to rest.
But nothing in his life has ever been easy.
There was no promise of a happy ending. It is simply not allowed.
He is learning that hope is not to be trusted.
Cast adrift in a sea of broken dreams; an eternity of sorrows.
Because he was a fool to believe that it could be any other way.
