Turned out to be not really consistent with the book in a way that made you almost expect most of the book details to happen the next minute but was rather better than Prisoner of Azkaban in that respect. A pretty enjoyable watch mostly though I didn’t quite expect to mourn the loss of the quidditch world cup match quite so much as I did.
Hermione Granger annoys me in the books but she’s gotten exponentially more annoying in the compact film version.
Voldemort was wonderful and while not quite squee-worthy was definitely cause for a quiet malicious chuckle.
Severus Snape and Igor Karkaroff in the closet together gets stranger each time I actually think about it though.
And weegie Cho as well as supremely Irish Dumbledore were rather a surprise.
Rupert Grint looks like he might possibly secure himself a future in gay porno if he wants to, much in the same way that Christian Coulson inspired a similar sentiment in the second film.
The lovely Phelps twins are very obviously the reason that Weasley twincest fiction exists.
And Tom Felton has grown up rather nicely too.
Of course Alan Rickman will always steal scenes regardless of whether or not he has dialogue and Jason Isaacs’ dashing Lucius Malfoy is thoroughly entertaining.
I’m just hoping that whoever they cast as Bellatrix Lestrange will measure up nicely. Oh, and Clémence Poésy wasn’t half as pretty as I’d imagined she should be as Fleur Delacour.
All in all it was a rather entertaining way to spend an evening. Especially after having my feet chewed by a friend’s new puppy.
