Happy... lunch-time?

Woke up this morning all croaky and coughing and feeling vaguely exhausted but three cups of tea so far and some cheatingly microwaved pork siu mai with chilli sauce woke me up a little bit more or at least enough to do nothing.
I have an AU Meine Liebe fic to edit and by AU, I do mean AU. You’d think I didn’t like that Ishtar Vermillion or something.
There’s a Draco fic that has been waiting patiently for over a week for an edit.
And half an Eduard-during-the-holidays fic that keeps looking at me as if it expects to dissolve into Ludwig pr0n.
Also, having made a start on the mixed nuts in the bowl in the living room, while the pecans are lovely, I can’t seem to crack open any of the almonds at all.
And finally, have a recipe for Chocolate Swiss roll
3/4 cup plain flour
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/3 cup sugar
3 eggs
2/3 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon icing sugar
Sift the flour, salt & cocoa powder into a mixing bowl. Put the sugar and eggs into a heatproof bowl over a pan of hot water. Beat until the mixture is think and pale and will make a ribbon tail on itself with the beater is lifted. (if an electric beater is used no heat is needed.)
Remove from heat and fold into the flour mix. Spoon into a greased and lined 12x8 inch Swiss roll tin. Bake in a preheated oven (400°F/200°C) for 10 – 12 minutes or until well risen.
Turn out onto a sheet of greaseproof paper sprinkled with sugar. Peel away the paper used to line the tin and trim edges. Roll up loosely with the paper inside and cover with a damn cloth. Leave to cool.
Whip the cream and icing sugar until think. Unroll the cake, removing the paper. Spread the cake with the cream mixture, roll up again & sprinkle with sugar.
If rolling process ever goes wrong just fold up and make chocolate Swiss layered sandwich instead.
Now I just need to sort myself out enough to go buy ingredients to I can actually make it for Christmas day. I didn’t pick in the end and let the friend who hosts the gathering decide, so it’s not my fault that it’s nothing terribly adventurous.
Edit: Plus let’s not forget the currently half written quasi-Naoji-incest that can’t decide whether it wants to be soul-searching angst or jolly necrophilia-pr0n.
And of course there’s the promise of Ludwig/Eduard pr0n that keeps trying to get in on everything else.
Oh, and just for good measure; youkai. Just randomly. Well, maybe not so randomly. But youkai anyway.
*tries to resist the urge to just start singing the Iisou ‘Gerbil, gerbil, mushroom, mushroom’ song*
Yeah...

Date: 2005-12-19 05:26 pm (UTC)Making a passing mention like that is just teasing.
There aren't actually any ML fics that have Ishtar in them on the entire net, as far as my google-fu can determine. I think there was one where Ishtar was an off-screen presence, but I can't find it now.
I'm looking forwards to reading yours very much.
