At least once in all their lives they’ve wanted to say something, to speak the truth plainly and unadorned, to say everything that the world has forbidden them to say.


“I never loved you like you love me.”

“I don’t really care what you have to say… about anything at all.”

“I’d like it better if you’d never existed.”

“I don’t know what I’m doing, no matter what I always tell you.”

“I dream about killing you so that then I could say you were mine.”


Except they don’t tell the truth, everybody lies and perhaps that’s just as well.

Most of these are probably wrong, but it's 10:27AM and I'm not quite awake and on my second scotch.

I've probably missed five out of five, but in my defence I can think of a justification for each one. ^_~

Not quite in the order I’d envisioned but still possible. I’m curious about your justification for homicidal Orpherus and who then he’d address that line to though.

I do like guessing games.

My guesses (this is really difficult):

1) Naoji
2) Camus?
3) Orpherus?
4) Ludwig?
5) Eduard

Ah, but most of the lines would work for at least three or four of them, if not all so there’s not really a right or wrong answer.

The order I’d written them in was Eduard talking to Orpherus, Orpherus to Eduard, Camus to Ludwig, Ludwig to either Orpherus or Naoji and Naoji to Ludwig. But all the lines are applicable to each really and what changes is simply to whom they are addressed.
