A drabble based around events in episode five of Meine Liebe and my penchant for awful puns.

In her tower the princess silently awaits the announcement of the wedding banns.

Ludwig can expect a year’s respite before his marriage but already his right hand twitches uncomfortably.

She will do as she is bid, for it is not her place to question the authority of her father the King.

This is his family’s will, his duty and nothing more besides.

Her obedience has always been highly praised.

It’s not as if anything can save him and save him from what anyway?

Yet, when her unexpected prince does come, Ludwig is forced to hide the reason for his smiles.

I’m sure there’s something about the wedding banns being announced at least three weeks in advance every Sunday but I can’t quite remember the details.
And even if Ludwig wouldn’t have to wear a wedding ring himself rather than just put one on his bride, I’ve taken some artistic license with that idea. Also, German wedding rings go on the right hand, as do Norwegian ones I believe.

Also, yes I'm puntastic; it was that or go watch a Dolph Lundgren film really.

Also, I've finally found a nice Tea Timer program for MacOS with a pretty GUI as well as a Windows version.

Stick with your puns - I enjoy them and I've no clue what or who Dolph Lundgren is x3

Also, you were correct regarding the wedding banns.

In England, under the provisions of Lord Hardwicke's Marriage Act, a marriage is only legally valid if the reading of the banns has taken place or a marriage licence has been obtained. By this 1753 statute, 26 Geo. II, c. xxxviij, the banns are required to be read aloud in church over a period of three Sundays prior to the actual wedding ceremony. Banns must be read in the parish church of both parties to the marriage, as well as in the church where the marriage ceremony is to take place (where this is different).

I suppose I wasn’t being quite as puntastic as I was with the spate of drabbles and the like that centred around The Mikado.

And marvellous, I got the details right without spelling it correctly. Thank you for info and inadvertent spelling correction.

You are puntastic indeed. XP

Germans wear wedding rings on their right hands? Hm, learn something new every day.

I fear that I just keep making the same stock joke over and over again not that it ever really gets old. Though there’s not yet excuse to write about Charlene Hartvich declaring herself the future Hakufujin Ishidzuki...
