Note to self: when making faux-Turkish coffee don’t forget to put the sugar in first and instead try to compensate by using Muscovado sugar at the end. Also take the time to look for the finer ground coffee in its suspiciously unlabeled jar rather than just grabbing the stuff that goes in the cafetière.
Though I suppose it’s the logical next step on from: don’t make faux-poutine with parmesan.

Also, a Turkish coffee tutorial.

You're my hero for this. And now I'm getting an Ibrik. From wanting Turkish coffee so much, I've been drinking black tea with sugar all day now. The funny unlabeled one.

How about this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290057275183&rd=1&rd=1)?
My only problem is that the stronger the coffee, the more likely I am to end up yawning after drinking it. At some point, possibly around the time I’d took to drinking mugs of espresso, it just seemed to stop working and now my body processes the caffeine in coffee differently to the caffeine in anything else.

That one is wonderful! Though I owe this lady in a local store a visit this month anyway, and since I'm sort of a regular customer (and they are Arabs, they negotiate ♥), I'm going to ask her first. Though I honestly doubt they have anything that looks so pretty.
And finally somebody else with intolerance for too much caffeine! I tend to have the same problem. Espresso really is deadly. Two cups (Espresso cups, mind you) and I could sleep, depending on how strong it is. At least my concentration is terrible then. While normal coffee does not seem to have this effect at all.

Coffee has no affect on me whatsoever, in fact it puts me to sleep. Whenever I have to fix my sleeping clock, coca cola is the only thing that keeps me awake, I think it has something todo with the suger.

Welcome to the Orden club. . And I suspect that you’re right. Fizzy drinks do the trick for me too. Caffeine then, is a big lie unless it’s in decongestant tablets which seem to cause more trouble than they fix.

Yay, I've always wanted to be in a club. And I don't care what rank I get, as long it has something to do with books and research. That's got me wondering (stupid brain, always thinking) what kind of ranks could we have? After all, you know more about this than me.

Since I’ve gone from just idling to actively avoiding doing any work today, the ranking would really depend on either vague associations à la Rosencreutz or... actual actuality in which case I’d probably be lucky to even get Theoricus really so lets go with the faux-occultism instead. Though I may just end up invoking [livejournal.com profile] herit with my less than modern information, the ranks and their corresponding Sephiroth would be:

Kether. The Crown. Spirit. Ipsissmus 10/1
Chokmah, Wisdom. Magus 9/2
Binah. Understanding. Magister Templi 8/3
Chesed. Mercy. Adeptus Exemptus. 7/4
Geburah. Might. Adeptus Major. 6/5
Tiphareth. Harmony. Adeptus Minor. 5/6
Netzach. Victory. Fire. Philosophus. 4/7
Hod. Splendour. Water. Practicus. 3/8
Yesod. Foundation. Air. Theoricus. 2/9
Malkuth. Kingdom. Earth. Zelator. 1/10

And while Radu gets the irony of Geburath, Isaak’s just a big ol’ fraud because anybody claiming any rank above Adeptus Minor quite so openly is probably lying. Which, being a glorious sort of liar, he probably knows anyway hence his introducing himself by rank and so on all over the place. Though Dietrich’s Magister Templi rank must just be a huge joke too then.

I think the way all the Orden memebers have been ranked is a big joke, in fact it might have something to do with egos. And I'd be right at the bottom of that list *sigh*.
I've thought about this and can't think what rank Caterina would have.

If I was going to start up a fake organisation and bastardise the Golden Dawn system I’d probably be inclined to grab Ipsissmus for myself not because I’d be anything near worthy of it but because it would be so ridiculously silly if anybody even entertained the possibility that I might be. But then double-bluff has always been my game or at least one of them.
Considering that Dietrich and Helga had Magister Templi I’d wonder if Caterna might end up with the same rank or rather for the better joke; Adeptus Exemptus considering both her ‘official’ reason for joining the Orden and her actual one. I suppose that’d make Tres Adeptus Major then from an obvious point of view.
