Logitech not only disables my function keys on a wake from hibernate but also at random, while I’m typing. It’s happening with such regularity that it’s starting to look like organised resistance.
Spent ten minutes positioning my gmail notification icon in Firefox just so the other day. The other options were use another extension that didn’t give me the mouse over popup so I opted for the one with too many options instead.
In an attempt to not spend so much on cigarettes have started smoking cheap Pall Malls. The menthols aren’t bad but the regulars seem to burn down oddly. Should just take a cigarette case full of Belomorkanal really: it’s not as if I’m going to run out of them any time soon.
Keep coming back to this Dilbert strip and laughing.
Have found a Starbucks where I can rattle off my regular order and they don’t bat an eyelid. They also get it right. Oddly placed though, really wouldn’t have expected it considering the location.
Of course there’s a Pret outside the Gherkin. Figures. My opinion of Pret also made it into fic.
Likewise, the fact that I no longer feel like I’m going to fall off the X-trainer when I use it made it into fic format too.
I’m glad we’ve reached the point where people have stopped saying HMRC and then telling me what that stands for. Of all the acronyms that’s the one I actually knew.
For some reason had The Cardigans’ “Lead Me Into the Night” running through my head on Friday morning. No idea what that means or why it happened but, much like my only grey hair showing visibly in the mirror that morning, I’ll take it to mean only good things to follow shortly.
After buying the tacky mug I promised myself the other day, also managed to pick up a set of scotch glasses because I was getting tired of drinking scotch and soda from tall glasses. Proceeded to come home and sit down with my drink, still wearing my pinstripe trousers and shirt with cufflinks... and realised that perhaps, just perhaps, I’d become a stereotype. At least it wasn’t the shirt with cuffs and collar that are a different colour to the rest of the shirt.
In coffee news, having tried Starbuck’s Toffee Nut latte, though I had mine with soy, I’m not sure that I was particularly impressed by it. The flavour just wasn’t distinctive enough for me, unlike the Egg Nog latte that, while it was too sweet for my palate, was at least distinctly sweet throughout. That leaves me with the Gingerbread latte and, possibly, the Peppermint mocha to try next.
Starbucks Christmas Blend VIA on the other hand is a nice, solid coffee that I could get use to drinking regularly in the mornings.
I've never heard of Pall Mall's but I'm under the impression that their the western equivalent to Chota Gold Flake?
At least it wasn’t the shirt with cuffs and collar that are a different colour to the rest of the shirt. I've never really understood the point of that, unless you're a lawyer and don't want to be wearing white shirts every day.
I’ve never heard of Chota Gold Flake but you’re probably right by way of comparison, though the other day a co-worker told me that they smelt like cigars.
unless you're a lawyer and don't want to be wearing white shirts every day.
Lawyers are required to wear white cuffs and collars? That look tends to be Wall Street chic for men who don’t want to wear FT pink shirts instead. The pink shirts were always a younger man thing too as far as I’ve always heard.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. Sadly, I spent the week in bed due to flu but I’ll trade that with good things to come.
other day a co-worker told me that they smelt like cigars. Do they really? Chota Gold Flake are the cheapest cigarettes available around here, they cost something like Rs.2.5 give or take 5opaisa, the down side is they are smaller than your average cigarette and taste and smell like the cheap cigarettes they are, which is why Pall Mall's might be just a bit better.
Lawyers are required to wear white cuffs and collars? Not really, but when in the court yard of the High Court or appearing before the High Court, lawyers are required to wear a black robe and white collar, so is you've got your blazer on a well, then all that can be seen of your shirt would be your collar and cuffs, so I suppose, theoretically, it wouldn't matter if you were wearing a pink shirt. Ah I see, my understanding of fashion is basic at best.
Oh dear, that's too bad, but I will drink to good things to come! ^^
Google tells me that they’re a ‘premium cigarette’ which probably speaks more of Marlboro, Silk Cut and Camel’s advertising departments expertises than anything else. They’re certainly not bad, and now having looked the different types up I’m actually tempted to try the ultra lights just because the hot pink packs amuse me and, in the interest of research of course, if they really are that mild then that provides a brand that I can write a certain character smoking, because he only smokes as cover for information gathering.
my understanding of fashion is basic at best.
My understanding of fashion is... variable and mostly consists of treating clothing like costume so that I arrange my attire in complete sets for the most part. For instance, my work clothing for the day can be based entirely around what colour scarf I feel like wearing e.g. a monochrome template sets off a navy blue scarf nicely but a red striped shirt with back suit gives a colour accent that would be highlighted by a black scarf as well. It’s not exactly fashion in that sense, more like pallet swapping really.
Hot pink packs?? Why don't I know this? Why haven't I seen them? Do you have a picture?
In that case you should probably give Wills Classic Milds a try as well ~_^ They are quite mild and rather smooth as well, and go marvelously well with cutting chai
treating clothing like costume so that I arrange my attire in complete sets for the most part Now that I think about it I tend to do this as well, having a set for work/conferences, collage, and 'Hanging out on the terrace'. Although I tend to go more on what feels right more than anything else, which can sometimes lead to rather odd things like wearing six different earrings instead of three pairs, and of course the two foot rattail.
I picked up a pack today to sample but I couldn’t tell you whether or not they’re all that mild since I’ve been alternately sneezing and blowing my nose all day. Photographic evidence here and here.
