324 words. Shojo-ai. Šahrzād/Esther. Set during Act 39.

If anybody asks she’s careful to misdirect, to lie by omission. Says that she understands that a crime is still a crime, that treason will always be wrong but such an admission is entirely theoretical. She has, after all, always known when to keep her peace.
Of course it was a crime, a treacherous rebellion. But they hadn’t been wrong. He hadn’t been wrong which was why she had followed.
The Empress had been something strange and inhuman in a world that craved rebirth. But now that dawn will never come, the world itself breaking. A victorious monster: the downfall of her people.
“We could have changed the world!”
Across the room Esther stirs in her sleep, frowning as if in response to those harsh words. A truth spelled out in pale limbs and fiery hair. A saint, a warrior, capable of bringing salvation and it makes Šahrzād wonder if perhaps there is a new hope to be born, divine mandate passed on into the hands of an honourable tovarăş. Perhaps that is why she has been brought to this place. Destiny unravelling under Rhamnousia’s guiding hand.
No matter what becomes of her it will be Esther who carries the fight, in an unbroken succession of mortal heroes waging war against false gods. The destiny of humanity fulfilled by nothing but human beings. Because they are the only ones with the right to see it through till the last.
Tovarăş then. Yes, she will count Esther as such.
If she possessed the Ring of Solomon, fallen from her martyred uncle’s hand, she knows she would now place it upon Esther’s finger.
“We will change the world.”
Her tovarăş will see to it.
Yet as much as she knows that she should be glad to know now the path that destiny will take, she can’t help but wonder if perhaps, in a better world they might not have been tovarăşi at all but rather lovers.

Moira is the portion of life or destiny allotted by the Fates.
Rhamnousia was another name for Nemesis in her capacity of goddess of Rhamnous.
Building on Butterflies and Mythology somewhat, this is exactly the sort of thing that happens when I’m quite busy and shouldn’t be writing fanfic at all. So instead I’m working on gr0king Šahrzād so that there may even been background fic for her at a later date. I do also blame this tack as well.

Which puts me in mind of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi2t58CRmbU) video immediately, though considering that I’ve been known to make the argument (http://imperial-artist.livejournal.com/527679.html) that Süleyman may in fact be gay that might suit him well enough.

I'll make a post to TB community once I've finished all the idiotic art I've doodled/owe/lost to someone, but you alone deserve the preview that features the enhanced version of your masterpiece: PINK BOWS ARE SCARY!
back to read about the big gay uncle once I'm done with lab stuff and I'll be less drunk... @.@
