Mother (G. 3341 words.)
Part two of Pathway charting the time between Süleyman’s border command and his arrival in Byzantium.

Circus (PG. 2441 words.)
Süleyman takes a teenaged Radu to the Milanese opera with some rather curious results. Though not before deciding that his activities in Venice would make it a far too scandalous location to visit instead.
I ought to warn for my slinging around Italian phrases here too really.

Change (PG. 2101 words.)
Something has changed between him and his tovarăş and Ion cannot understand why.
Involving non-sexual naked Methuselahness.
With an additional challenge to [livejournal.com profile] alucards_bane to figure out the inspiration from real life.

And lastly a Pegasus log involving two NPCs one of whom is a tarot reader who may in fact be faux-Egyptian and the other who may or may not be Turkish.

You’re tempting me to write subtle and obtuse Ion vs. Süleyman there. Or possibly Ion following Radu when he goes out and being horrified at what he discovers and if I do write that the temptation will be for it to all go a bit American Beauty so that Ion completely misinterprets the situation.
The other version of Ion would be the one featured in Prometheus (http://www.yaoihaven.net/sunsets/viewstory.php?sid=90) and possibly Maschere (http://www.yaoihaven.net/sunsets/viewstory.php?sid=152) and Chrysanthemum (http://www.yaoihaven.net/sunsets/viewstory.php?sid=131) too, though the latter two could just as easily be Ion after he’s bought a clue.

I never really took the time to learn all that much about Changeling but it does seem fairly intriguing. I recall attempting to work out which of the characters in Meine Liebe had slipped into banality with a friend once using that system.
You know, I wrote a whole raft of Matrix fic featuring the Agents as part of an elaborate angelic ranking system which made them the good guys back in the day. It made more sense to me that way in opposed to the rebel scum (to quote Grand Moff Tarkin there) ethos of freeing themselves so that they could live in some really appalling conditions.

Both of those sound really interesting, but my vote is going for Ion following Radu And failing at it, though Radu seems to play along anyway *coughs* Me? Tempting you? Pshaw.
Oh, goodie, more to read.

I guess that's one good reason why I never watched the other two Matrix films. Screams of them being terrible tended to steer me away. But that does sound better than their reason o.o
Oh, you can have *my* summer weather if I could give it to you. It was 91 here today, Jesus. What happened to my nice 70-somethings? Just be careful not to burn them...though I suppose better that burned than something else.

Of course now what I really want to write about is the seedy underworld of Seth’s perfect little kingdom. Something like this perhaps:

Pulling himself up again so that he could see over the window ledge Ion almost wished he had let himself fall yet even as he thought it he found himself pressing his nose close to the latticework trying to persuade himself that he was hallucinating. Inside the room his tovarăş was now straddling the Duke of Tigris who merely lay back against the couch and let it happen.

“You old pervert.” Radu’s tone was far from accusing.
Süleyman smiled in response, raising the tip of the hose to his lips again while he slid his free arm around Radu’s waist.
“The Duchess of Moldova really wouldn’t approve.”
“Fuck Mirka.” Came the snarled reply with a sharp exhale of smoke.

If Ion thought he couldn’t have been shocked any further at that sort of language from the Duke of Tigris of all people, he was quickly disabused of that notion as he watched Radu press his mouth to Süleyman’s before drawing back, lips stained with blood.

The last Matrix film really was the nail in the coffin of the trilogy. The second one was far from fantastic but at least you could hope that the last one would resolve the issue in a better fashion… until it didn’t. I ended up with reviews where people would be quite happy about those films and were suggesting that they’d given me new material to work with: I ended up giving my Agents honourable death and walking away from the entire fandom. Harry Potter was a similar affair too. I was interested in Severus as the amoral scientist and Lucius as a borderline fanatic fighting for his cause. Of course Lucius was in the wrong but he believed in his cause with the same sort of passion that the good guys had for theirs and that I found interesting. Nobody prepared to risk life and sanity for a cause ever believes its wrong after all.

*claps* That was very good, though now I feel as if I've been teased mercilessly. This could very well be turning into a new 'project' of sorts.

Pitiful when things turn out that way, really. I still haven't read that last Harry Potter book yet, it's still sitting on my shelf. And when you're right, you're right.
