If it surprises anyone to see what must evidently be a whore leaning out of a window with a cigar in the Alexandrian mid-day heat it is only in passing. Even the police officers assigned to day patrols merely shake their heads with rueful smiles when said whore blows them a kiss or offers them a playful wink in passing.
In Miṣr the days are quiet affairs with most Methuselah slumbering while the sun reigns overhead. Which is useful, since nobody will notice that the Governor-General is missing from his palace, conveniently allowing Süleyman to enjoy his vices in peace.

Miṣr would be the Arabic name for Egypt.
ROM3 states that Süleyman was once Governor-General of that region.
