Insomnia & dreams of musicals

narcasseI’ve been having quite bizarre insomnia of late which has meant that my sleeping cycle tries to shift itself backwards so that I get up in the afternoon and go to bed a few hours before dawn. This isn’t particularly new but it hasn’t happened for a few years to this degree. I’ve been trying to sort my sleeping pattern out at any rate and in the interim that tends to produce some rather weird dreams.
The other day I dreamt there was a Takarazuka Revue Trinity Blood musical. Specifically that the actress playing Isaak was giving an interview in which she went into the topic of how playing the role meant that she had to actively work on having no chemistry with the actress playing Dietrich. Apparently there was a big duet between the two where they go through all the stock motions of it being a romance but the point of it was to convey that it was artificial and that Isaak and Dietrich were parodying affectionate gestures while they sang about the destruction of the world. That was about the gist of it, though I do vaguely remember there being something about Radu appearing on stage in a magical puff of smoke and most of Süleyman’s entrances involving lots of dry ice.
Which of course segues into the obligatory Rose of Versailles youtube clip and the Utena Student Council one.
