Mythological drabble: Cedalion

Cedalion & Hephaestus and not much else.
Cedalion
Disclaimer: Cedalion may well belong to Hephaestus though perhaps that also works the other way round too.
++++++++++
Cedalion, like all Hephaestus’ servants and Hephaestus himself, doesn’t look quite human. He is a composition of parts, a suggestion of a human shape in amalgamations of flesh and machinery. His face is a rudimentary construction of skin welded to metal which from time to time Hephaestus rearranges.
Cedalion stands patiently when Hephaestus engages in such work, his hands resting on the arms of Hephaestus’ chair while the Smith God reaches up towards him.
No other servant is granted this strange intimacy: the others sleep while their bodies are rearranged. Only he is privy to the rapture of Hephaestus’ work.
